The aim of this program is to give participants possibility to deep the atmosphere of the Middle Ages and Renaissance. The past is still alive in the Central Europe. Sometimes it will be shocked, sometimes funny, but all those 11 days will be definitely unforgettable.
The program is designed for people, who want to see and to know, what do they see; for people, who want to learn. That is why, except the typical touristic excursions and trips, the program offers lectures on a specific topics. Lectures are given by universities’ professors.


PROGRAM |

1st day

Arrival at the Balice airport in Krakow. You will be met by our tour escort waiting outside the restricted customs area to greet you and assist you to your private motor coach.
Transfer to hotel for check-in. Accommodation at the hotel HOTEL GRAND *****
or similar.

The guest will find in the rooms a welcome kit including: welcome letter to Krakow, map of the city and other practical information.
PM: After some rest, welcome meeting with tour leader who presents the program and gives all materials for the program.
19:00 Dinner will be served in hotel’s restaurant
Overnight in the hotel.

2nd day

06:30 Breakfast at the hotel starts
10:00 Beginning of the Lecture on History. This lecture will be presented by Professor of History of the Jagiellonian University.
Subject of the lecture:
Medieval history of Poland and Krakow: general information, architecture, painting.
11:00 During the lecture we provide 1 coffee break: coffee, tea, mineral water and pastries.
13:30 End of the lecture and lunch in the hotel.
14:30 TOUR OF KRAKOW starts.
This tour gives the best opportunity to get to know the rich history of Krakow. Krakow is one of the most important Polish cities with precious historical monuments dating from different centuries. It has over 6 thousand historical objects. In 1978 The Medieval Old Town was placed on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage list.
17:30 End of the tour, return to the hotel for rest.
19:00 Dinner in the restaurant located in Old Town:
21:00 Return to the hotel, time for rest.

3rd day 

06:30 Breakfast at the hotel starts
10:00 Beginning of the Lecture on History. This lecture will be presented by Professor of History of Jagiellonian University.
Subject of the lecture: Middle Age in European culture. Interaction of cultures of different Countries in the Medieval Europe: Kings, influence of Church, Architecture and wars.
11:00 During the lecture we provide 1 coffee break: at the disposal coffee, tea, mineral water and some small cakes.
13:30 End of the lecture and lunch in the hotel.
14:30 Tour of Krakow: Wawel Castle. which has been at the heart of Poland’s history. Located here, the Royal Castle has been the seat of Poland’s kings from the 11th to the early 17th century. Today this is one of the most visited places in Krakow.
17:30 End of the tour, return to your hotel for rest.
19:00 Dinner in the restaurant located in the Main Market Square:
21:00 End of the dinner and back to the hotel.

4th day

06:30 Breakfast at the hotel starts
10:00 Check out from the room and departure from Krakow toward the Czech Republic, castle Lednice.
Quick lunch on the way
17:00 Check in the hotel-castle Zamek. Dinner at the hotel’ restaurant.

5th day 

06:30 Breakfast starts at the hotel.
09:00 6 hours tour of the castles Lednice & Valtice. Chateau Valtice represent an excellent example of Baroque style. 
13:00 Lunch at the typical tavern.
17:00 Afternoon – visit of the private wine cellar. Moravia is noted for its viticlture; it contains 94% of the Czech Republic's vineyards and is at the centre of the country's wine industry. There are some of the 400 wine growing villages and 27,000 acres (11 000 hectares) of vineyards.
19:00 Typical Moravian Dinner with the unlimited consumption of the local wine and folklore music at the ancient wine cellar close to the hotel.

6th day 

06:30 Breakfast starts at the hotel.
08:30 Departure towards the manor Hluboka-nad-Vltavou, which is without a doubt one of the most beautiful castles in Bohemia.
12:30 Arrival to Hluboka and check in the hotel Stekl 5*, located on the territory of the castle.
13:00 Lunch at the hotel.
15:00 – 18:00 Tour of the castle. Dinner at the castle.

7th day 

06:30 Breakfast starts at the hotel.
08:30 Departure to Cesky Krumlov, which is not only the picturesque town, but also
the castle (the second largest in Bohemia after the Prague castle) belongs to the
most often visited places in Bohemia.
Note: if the tour takes place in the middle of June, group members can have unique chance to
take part in a Celebration of the Five-Petalled Rose. This celebration will become the highlight
of the trip.
You will participate in the Celebration of the Five-Petalled Rose, festival depicting the times of
the greatest development under the reign of Vilém and Petr Vok from the House of Rosenberg.
For two days you can meet up with noble ladies and gentlemen as well as knights, jugglers,
musicians, actors, burghers, merchants and craftsmen… Old Czech market, historic town
processions, knight tournaments, theatre and music production inviting to join.
You will dress costumes of different ranks of the society of the Middle age, take in your hands
flambeau and, leading by the prince of Bohemia, will stroll with the Festive procession by streets
and square of the town. King of Bohemia will seat on his Throne in the middle of the square and
watch the Procession.
Even if you will feel hot and uncomfortable in that heavy and hard-to wear dress, don’t change it
to the modern one: feel Medieval on your own skin.

Dinner at the Gothic cellar
22:00 Start of the celebration: participation in the Procession.
24:00 Festive fireworks (the best place to watch it – from the old bridge opposite your hotel)

8th day

Breakfast and continue of the celebration. Visit on your own any of multiple events, markets and shows, try typical Bohemian food. You can get acquaintance with princess of some European kingdom or talk with the witch.
Lunch on your own
.19:00 Gala dinner accompanied with the live ancient music.

9th day

06:30 Breakfast starts at the hotel .
08:30 Departure to Prague.
12:00 Arrival to Prague, check in the hotel Kampa Best Western 4* (building of 17th century).
13:00 Lunch at the hotel’ restaurant
14:30 Walking tour of the Lesser town.
18:30 Dinner at the hotel’s restaurant.

10th day

06:30 Breakfast starts at the hotel.
09:00 – 12:00 Lecture: history of Prague. Lecture takes place in the hotel’ meeting room, 
inspired in design with the 16th century style
11:00 Coffee break
12:30 Lunch at the hotel’ restaurant
14:00 Tour of the Prague castle. At present the historical objects of the Prague Castle are under the administration of the Office of the President of the Republic.
Tour of Vysehrad castle
Vysehrad, the rock above the river with its dark outline of slender spires, is an inseparable part of the Prague skyline. The traditions of this mysterious site are bound up with the legends.
18:30 Departure for the dinner with show at the chateau Detenice. You must be ready for that real Medieval dinner, where you will eat with your fingers, hear some rough style of speech, watch shocking show of swordsmen, beggars, jugglers and fakir monks. Middle age didn’t know delicacy. Your food will be cooked on an open fire. In the end you may be locked in a cage. But you will see also bell dancers – so something nice you will see also. This last night in Middle age you will not forget.

11th day

Breakfast. Transfer to the airport.
