Rates include: Tour 3 Artistic EuropeVienna – 4 days, Salzburg – 3 daysDay 1st Arrival in Vienna. Transfer to Hotel. Day 2nd Breakfast. Guided City Tour with Cityrama Tours. Meeting Point: In front of the State Opera. This is an introduction to Vienna, the magnificent buildings in the city center - Imperial Palace, Opera, Museums and to Schönbrunn Palace, the Habsburg Summer Residence. Schönbrunn Palace is an outstanding example for Austrian Baroque architecture. The summer residence of the imperial family saw important rulers: Maria Theresia who listened to young Mozart’s piano concerts there, Joseph II, who said farewell to his sister Marie Antoinette, the later queen of France, Francis I who had to welcome Napoleon, etc. etc. In Schönbrunn the last Habsburg Emperor Charles I resigned and in the 1960s the American President Kennedy and Soviet leader Chrustchov met during the Vienna summit. A place of world history. Day 3rd Breakfast. In the evening tourists must be prepared for the long entertainment. Tour Viennese Serenade includes visit of amusement park Prater with riding on the world oldest Giant Ferris Wheel; dancing on Heurigenshow; dinner with wine in the world most famous wine village Grinzing and transfer back to the hotel. Day 4th Breakfast. Our suggestion: Belevedere Palace, the former summer residence of Prince Eugene of Savoy, contains the Austrian Gallery with paintings of Austrian masters of the 19th and 20th century. The Biedermeier painters Gauermann, Schwindt, Waldmüller, Hamerling are among Europe’s finest. The lust of the decadence of the Habsburg monarchy is represented by Hans Makart and the art nouveau painter Gustal Klimt and Egon Schiele lead to the expressionist art of Oskar Kokoschkla and Richard Gerstl. pm Our suggestion: a Musical Walk (State Opera, Musikverein …). There are many memorials of composers and musicians in Vienna, but the area between and around the State Opera and the Musikverein is of special interest. Attend a guided tour through the State Opera (if accessibble this day) or a tour through the home of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, the Musikverein. Day 5th Breakfast.
